(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – A new website dedicated to cracking Apple’s iOS7 has emerged, and it’s trying to get people to donate to their fund for whoever “releases an open source iOS7 jailbreak.”
The website, isios7jailbrokenyet.com, is comprised of four judges who review the work of individuals who think they have successfully jailbroken an iPhone.
“We wanted an open source jailbreak for iOS 7, giving users the capability to install what they want on their own devices and the ability to audit the code they’re using to do so,” states the website.
The incentive for doing so is a prize provided from crowd funding, which is currently at $9,953.
“Help fund the Device Freedom Prize: a crowdfunded reward for the first developer(s) who release an open source iOS 7 jailbreak.”
The criteria for winning the prize is that the jailbreak code must work for all iPhones running on iOS7, be untethered, accessible to the average user, be free of charge when it’s publicly released, and support iOS 7.04.
