(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Good news for Verizon Wireless customers impatiently awaiting the arrival of Android Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy S3 devices: The rollout has begun.
The top mobile carrier announced the move Thursday, signaling the switch would occur in what it called “phases” beginning Friday the fourteenth.
Jelly Bean has been highly anticipated in the Android community, providing new features such as Google Now, an OS predictive tool that provides users with real time data pertaining to things like traffic conditions, weather, flight information and more.
The download of Jelly Bean totals 400.7MB. “You will be notified that a system update is available on your device. Tap OK to continue. Your device will power off then power on and the installation will begin,” stated Verizon via a PDF file regarding installation instructions.
Verizon, meanwhile, also noted that users could manually download the upgrade through their settings beginning sometime in the coming week.
Another primary feature on Android Jelly Bean includes new live camera filters. The Samsung Galaxy 3 is one of the industry’s top mobile device sellers, first having become available in May.
