(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – In the latest war between mobile competitors, a jury is set to determine later today how much Samsung owes Apple in their patent rights feud.
ABCNews reported that the financial settlement is due to the use of the “pinch-to-zoom” feature found in 13 of Samsung’s older products.
Apple is insisting that they get paid $380 million due to the knockoff Apple products Samsung made. Samsung is countering that by saying they only owe the company $52 million.
In an earlier trial, Apple attempted to have certain Samsung devices banned from being sold in the United States, but U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh ruled in Samsung’s favor stating that “the company didn’t prove that consumers bought Samsung devices instead of Apple devices because of the infringement.”
In March, the two mobile giants will face an even bigger trial regarding Apple’s claims that Samsung’s newer and current products also infringe their products.
