(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – On Tuesday, game publisher Square Enix officially launched Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix for the PlayStation 3 – actually making the game the PS3’s first and only Kingdom Hearts release to arrive for the console.
The game features a mix up of KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, a launch that was initially only available to the Japanese market along with KINGDOM HEARTS RE:Chain of Memories, the latter of which first hit the Game Boy Advance nearly one decade ago.
Since its release, the game has received darn good reviews. Writing for TIME Magazine on Wednesday, Matt Peckham called the game “all kinds of gorgeous,” complimenting the title’s improved textures.
Meanwhile, Peckham noted the game’s inclusion of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 doesn’t actually mean it’s playable like it was via its 2009 version. Instead, it’s included as “cut scenes.”
The next Kingdom Hearts game to be released will be Kingdom Hearts 3 – a completely new release in the series that will arrive for both PS4 and Xbox One sometime next year.
