Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – KnownHost, a provider of Managed VPS, dedicated servers, SSD VPS hosting and unmanaged VPS services suffered a brief traffic issue at their Texas network facility today approximately 4pm CST. Though it did not affect all clients and their services, Knownhost reported a DDoS attack of over 100Gbps in size.
Minor complaints were placed on web hosting forums but quickly addressed by the KnownHost staff and kept an update at their own forums, https://forums.knownhost.com/threads/tx-network-connectivity.3433/
Though some clients seem to be suffering from downtime, KnownHost has assured its customers the situation was addressed quickly and all connectivity had been restored within 30 minutes of the support group being aware.
KnownHost COO Daniel Pearson says via the forum “You should not have any sites down for this as all connectivity has been restored. If your still having issues please submit a support ticket so our technicians can assist you. “
Many Data Centers and Hosting companies battle many types of issues from DDoS attacks to direct system hacks and response times can vary, depending on the full extent of the attacks. KnownHost is a respected member of the web hosting community and did a commendable job in responding to the situation.
