(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – As time passes, it’s appearing even more likely that Apple’s next release of the iPhone will feature larger screen sizes. Just a week after the Wall Street Journal reported that sources had confirmed the move, a leaked panel appeared as even further evidence.
According to a report from Mobile Magazine, the panel actually belongs to an upcoming release of Apple’s iPod Touch. However, screen sizes for iPod touches have traditionally been in line with the current 3.5 iPhone.
The report noted that the actual size of the iPod Touch panel measured 4.1 inches, matching the Journal’s report that signaled it’d at least measure 4.
Despite offering the most popular smartphone in the market, signs point to Apple looking to revamp its product line in the face of rising competition from other mobile providers. Samsung’s popular Galaxy S2 accounts for 4.3 inches, significantly larger than Apple’s current line.
The Cupertino-based tech provider unveiled its last smartphone in October. The iPhone 4S was notable for introducing the Apple AI voice feature known as Siri.
Meanwhile, Apple could have an even bigger product launch in its plans. Earlier this month, Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou said his company was preparing to produce an HD TV for the company. Foxconn serves as Apple’s top manufacturer for devices including the iPhone and iPad.
