(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Amid a lackluster PC market, computer giant Lenovo has its sights set of pushing competitor HP from the top spot in Europe.
The company hopes to do so by 2015.
“We want to become number one within the next 18 months — let’s say by the beginning of 2015,” recently commented Lenovo President Gianfranco Lanci for the European region, according to a recent report from Bloomberg.
The PC market has been struggling for some time now due to surging tablet and smartphone sales.
Meanwhile, Lenovo is said to be launching new device that Bloomberg says “convert from notebooks to tablets.”
Lenovo has consistently been a top shipper of PC units, pushing over 13 million PC devices during the third quarter of last year.
