Linux on Your Smartphone: Ubuntu Makes a Move

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Listen up Linux gurus: The popular open-source OS is coming to Android smartphones. According to a BBC report on Wednesday, Linux OS Ubuntu is now compatible with some devices – firstly the Galaxy Nexus, by Samsung.

Ubuntu will showcase its Linux ready phones later this month at CES 2013.

“Your phone is more immersive, the screen is less cluttered, and you flow naturally from app to app with edge magic. The phone becomes a full PC and thin client when docked. Ubuntu delivers a magical phone that is faster to run, faster to use and fits perfectly into the Ubuntu family,” comment the developers via ubuntu.com.

The company will be displaying the integration via booth 30659, set to be held January 8 – 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
