(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Streaming service Hulu may be up for grabs. Recently, various reports have pointed towards tech giant Apple considering buying the video streaming service. According to unnamed people cited by Bloomberg, the company has already been talking about a possible transaction.
Such an acquisition would be huge, but for now, the possibility currently appears to just be talk. Not many companies have had much success battling the likes of Netflix, who recently announced a price increase for its service. If one comes close, it’s Hulu.
The video streaming service is thought to be more television oriented, featuring shows from NBC, FOX, MTV, Walt Disney, and the National Geographic Channel.
Companies including NBCUniversal, Walt Disney, and Fox Entertainment Group currently form ownership of Hulu.
Besides Apple, other companies that could be in the running for the streaming service possibly include the likes of Google and Apple, according to the Wall Street Journal.
It remains unclear what a possible acquisition by a top tech company could mean for Hulu. However, it will remain interesting to watch how its future compares to the likes of Netflix.
