(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Will Facebook soon face a high profile legal battle? According to a report from MediaPost.com, a couple of pay-per-click marketers have requested the proceeding of a class action lawsuit against the company.
The issue is now at the hands of a federal appellate court judge following a prior rejection of the lawsuit by a district court official.
Two companies including Fox Test Prep and DriveDownPrices.com have accused the world’s top social network of violating a pay-per-click contract by charging marketers for “invalid clicks.”
“Whether Facebook breached the uniform contract here is the common, indeed the predominant, issue that will be determined by the same proof for plaintiffs and all proposed class members,” state those attempting to bring the lawsuit, according to Media Post’s report.
Whether or not they succeed, meanwhile, appears to be seen. Stay tuned.
