(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Don’t ban ‘em, keep ‘em around with an interesting twist: that’s the course Max Payne 3 creator Rockstar Studios decided to go with on Wednesday when it announced a plan to deal with cheaters on the multiplayer console and Windows game. The specific course of action? Make cheaters play amongst themselves on a separate server.
“Anyone found to have used hacked saves, modded games, or other exploits to gain an unfair advantage in Max Payne 3 Multiplayer, or to circumvent the leaderboards will be quarantined from all other players into a “Cheaters Pool”, where they’ll only be able to compete in multiplayer matches with other confirmed miscreants,” stated the company via its website.
It’s an interesting concept that’s a far cry from banning actions undertaken by other game developers. Meanwhile, the popular title recently became available via the Android market.
