(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Microsoft Office for the iPad has only been available on the App store for a few days but is already ranking in the top spots on Apple’s app charts.
According to MacRumors, Microsoft Word is currently ranked as the number one top free app for the iPad, with Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote following right behind in the second, third, and fourth spot.
Microsoft’s decision to brings its Office suite to Apple is looking to be a good investment for both of the companies as Word is ranked number five in on the top grossing apps, while Excel is number twelve.
The free version of Office allows users to read, view, and present documents, while the $99 a year Office 365 subscription gives users the ability to edit and create new documents.
Microsoft first expressed interest in making Office apps for the iPad in 2010, but was not released until new CEO Satyal Nadella took over.
