(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – If you find the new metro style of Microsoft’s upcoming OS Windows 8 appealing and currently own a system running on Windows 7 or older, Microsoft has some good news for you: an upgrade will only set you back $39.99 for the Pro edition.
The price was revealed by Microsoft Communications Manager Brandon LeBlanc in a blog post on windowstreamblog.com.
LeBlanc noted that the availability would be offered in 131 markets and emphasized the simplicity of the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant. “We wanted to share information about this upgrade promotion with you as we continue to drive toward the RTM milestone for Windows 8. We will of course have more to say and more details to provide closer to general availability,” commented LeBlanc.
Windows 8 is set for release sometime this fall. The company currently provides a release preview version of the OS. The metro style itself was created for further integration with tablet devices. Last month, the company unveiled its Surface tablet, a product featuring a kickstand and a cover that multitasks as a keyboard.
