(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Microsoft’s Surface RT tablet computer will begin using Qualcomm chips, Bloomberg signaled on Tuesday.
The report cited “people with knowledge of the company’s plans” and noted Snapdragon processors would be integrated into future releases of the tablets.
If true, Qualcomm’s chips would replace Nvidia’s Tegra chip which is expected to continue powering some versions of Surface beyond the Qualcomm deal.
Microsoft first released the Surface RT last year to better compete in a tablet market currently dominated by the likes of Apple and Android.
