(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Mojang has released new details concerning Update 1.8 in this week’s Minecraft snapshot, 14w31a.
“We’re starting to wind down our development cycle, and as such we’re now focusing on bug fixing for a smooth release,” says Mojang’s “Dinnerbone.” “This weeks snapshot comes with a bunch of fixed bugs, some more optimization and only minimal featurecreep.”
The latest batch of improvements and bug fixes include fixes to potion effect status, fire change sound, door textures, the daylight sensor, zoomed out maps, and TNT explosions.
Additionally, Mojang mentioned some “notable” changes such as that rabbits now have sounds, the surface of the sun is “no longer incorrectly made of cheese,” and mob pathfindings are now threaded.
