(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Just in time for the holiday season, Minecraft creator Mojang announced the availability of U.S. gift cards for the popular title on Tuesday.
The move allows the company to sell Minecraft via retail stores, providing customers with the option of paying for the game title with cash and not through online credit card details.
“It’s now possible to slip Minecraft into a birthday/Christmas card as a surprise bonus gift. What a nice thing to do,” commented Mojang via its blog.
Card availability isn’t just practical for the U.S. market. The game creator emphasized that recipients worldwide could download the game after redeeming a gift card’s code.
Retailers carrying the cards include the likes of Best Buy, Target and Walmart. Minecraft is set at a price of $26.95.
