(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Minecraft TU12 is closer than ever as game developer 4J on Tuesday confirmed the update would sometime this week enter cert testing. With that said, here’s what we know about the highly anticipated title update:
Mash-Up Pack – 4J has confirmed that a mash-up pack for TU12 will arrive sometime after the cert testing period. Here’s how 4J described the pack when questioned via its Twitter account: “All textures will be available, and no time limit. You just won’t be able to save with a trial pack.”
Jungle Biome – According to a lot of reports, TU12 is set to feature a jungle biome.
Mobs – Iron Golems are expected to arrive with TU12. Meanwhile, a screenshot from 4J also revealed ocelots and cats (can you say meow?).
No Anvils and Hoppers – Sorry guys, if you were expecting anvils and hoppers, you’ll have to wait until a later update, a move 4J confirmed via Twitter.
Favorite Skins Feature – Gamers are now expected to have the ability to “favorite skins”
Heavy on “Software Architecture Changes” – TU12 is expected to deliver some big changes for Minecraft Xbox 360 edition’s software architecture. 4J previously described this as “lots of changes in the way the code works underneath the game.”
Build Height – The world is expanding. It’s rumored that the build height will be upped to 256.
New Blocks – “Ender Chests” are a highly rumored feature of TU12, according to a report from Society and Religion on Friday.
