(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – With the Minecraft Xbox One and PS4 editions set to be released in two months, fans are anxious to see what can be expected from the launch of the new next-gen versions.
According to Mojang, the new version will feature worlds 36 times bigger with “greater draw distance” than that of the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Both versions will be priced at $19.99, though players who previously purchased the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions will be able to upgrade for $4.99.
For those who purchased DLCs on the PS3 and Xbox 360, most will be available on the new versions, though not all skin and texture packs will transfer due to “items trapped in licensing deals.”
Last week Mojang’s Owen Hill confirmed that the PS4 version will make full use of the Dualshock 4’s “unique features” by allowing players to use the touchpad to navigate menus and crafts. The game will also support all social sharing options and allow the use of four-player split screen.
Minecraft Xbox One, PS Vita, and PS4 is set to hit shelves this August.
