Mojang Announces Minecraft Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita Release Date

Mojang Announces Minecraft Xbox One, PS4, and PS Vita Release Date(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Mojang has finally released information regarding the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, and PS Vita versions of Minecraft, including a release date.

According to the developer, all versions of the game will be released in August 2014 for $19.99, with the PS3 edition containing the Vita version for free.

For those who previously purchased the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions, you will be able to upgrade to the next-gen versions for $4.99, though this offer is only good until August 2015.

Mojang has also announced some good news concerning transfer saves. Players will be able to transfer their saves to the  Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles, though it will not be possible to to save from the newer consoles to the older ones.

“Unfortunately, you won’t be able to transfer saves from Xbox One to Xbox 360. We can make worlds bigger without too much stress, but shrinking them causes all kinds of problems,” says the developer.

Additionally, if you purchased DLCs on the PS3 Edition, it will work on the PS 3+ Vita Edition. Most, but not all, skin and texture packs will transfer due to “items trapped in licensing deals.”
