Mojang’s Chief Word Officer, Owen Hill, confirmed on the PlayStation blog that Minecraft PS4 and PS Vita will be released in Q2 or Q3 of this year.
When asked by a fan if the Vita version would have all the features as other versions, Hill stated,” The Vita version will be up-to-date with the console versions. I’ve not tested it myself, but I expect the framerate will be lovely and smooth. :)”
He also revealed that the development team plans on enabling players to be able to transfer worlds from PS3 to PS4 worlds, but still isn’t sure about how they will make it work with the Vita.
For fans wanting to know more about cross buys between PS3, PS4, and Vita, Hill said that the developers plan on releasing more information about that soon.
“We’ll have more news on cross-buy/upgrade options soon! I understand that the wait is frustrating, but we don’t want to make false promises. :)”
