(Ping! Zine Web Hosting News) – Yesterday, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings admitted he “messed up” and offered some insight regarding recent changes at the popular movie streaming provider. The company CEO referred to Netflix’s recent price hike and the separation of its services (streaming and DVD).
Hastings also stressed his need to be “extra-communicative” during company changes.
Besides providing an explanation for where Netflix messed up, Hastings detailed a company change. The company’s DVD mail service is set to be rebranded as “Qwikster.” Explaining the move, Hastings said, “We chose the name Qwikster because it refers to quick delivery. We will keep the name “Netflix” for streaming.”
Meanwhile, a separate website (Qwikster.com) will be launched for the DVD/mail service.
Concluding the blog post, Hastings said both Netflix and the newly-launched Qwikster “will work hard to regain your trust.”
Recent announcements from the company have resulted in uproar among Netflix customers. To view the blog post, visit: http://blog.netflix.com/2011/09/explanation-and-some-reflections.html
