(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – The next gen Apple iPad mini 2 may not see the light of day until sometime next year.
According to a report from Digi Times on Monday which cited “industry supply chain sources,” mass production may be delayed until 2014’s fourth quarter.
Apple is reportedly looking to fit the device with a retina display featuring a 2,048 X 1,536 resolution. The company may also be revamping the tablet’s chassis, according to the report.
In addition to the above, the Cupertino tech giant is expected to use “thin-film touch screen technology,” something that could decrease the iPad mini’s weight by 20 to 30%.
The original iPad mini was launched in November.
