(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – A recent Kickstarter project emerged earlier this month, asking users to crowd fund a finger-based wearable device controlled from finger gestures.
Logbar’s Ring device allows users to connect the device via Bluetooth to their smartphones where they can write text messages by drawing in the air, access apps by drawing certain shapes in the air, and even finalize mobile payments via GPS or iBeacon, reports Mashable.
According the companies Kickstarter page, Ring is compatible with iPhones, iPads, Android, PC, Google Glass, smart watches, home control devices, iOS native apps, Twitter, Facebook, and Evernote.
The device was demonstrated at the SXSW tradeshow event last week in Austin, Texas where they reached their goal of $250,000 in just a day and a half.
Currently users have pledged over $777,000, with 14 more days to go to still receive funding.
Logbar is now taking pre-order for its $165 device, with shipping expected to begin in July 2014.
