(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Fake Apple stores in China may be a bigger problem than previously thought. According to a new report by Reuters, Chinese officials have found even more counterfeit Apple retailers.
The twenty-two new additional fake stores add onto other fake Apple retailers previously discovered by an American blogger in China last month. The stores feature the name and likeness of the actual Apple Store and sell real Apple products, but are not authorized by the company.
Meanwhile, Chinese authorities have carried out investigations on the retailers and have even forced some to close. Despite the fakes, Apple actually does have real Apple stores in the country which include two located in Shanghai and two located in Beijing.
The Chinese retail market is notorious for counterfeit products. However, the idea of entire fake retail stores seems to present something newer. For more information from Reuters, visit: http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/11/us-apple-china-fake-idUSTRE77A3U820110811
