New gTLDs: Who are the Corporate Players?

(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – While a lot of generic sounding TLDs were included in a list of applied for domain strings unveiled by ICANN on Wednesday, corporate players have specifically looked to increase the presence of brand and store names with new gTLDs. Here at Ping! Zine, we thought we’d take a look a just some of the brand and company names that could see a larger web presence due to the ICANN’s expansion of the web.

It’s notable that none of the new gTLDs have received final approval just yet. ICANN is providing a 90 day evaluation period in which parties can object to the applied for domain suffixes. So we have to ask: Do you think these corporate-inspired gTLDs will help their companies increase profitability?
