(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – A new iMac was in the mix during Apple’s latest product unveiling on Tuesday. The Cupertino, California company has worked to revamp the device to feature a thinner form.
Two versions are available in separate sizes: 27-inch and 21.5-inch, both with a full lamination design. The processor is 2.7GHz quad-core.
How thin? It’s 5mm. That’s 80% thinner than the previous generations. 75% less reflection is also a main highlight, noted Apple Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing Philip W. Schiller during the event.
FaceTime HD camera, dual microphones make the device especially interactive. Apple also showcased something called Fusion, featuring 128GB flash storage fused into a single volume, working automatically.
The 21.5 inch version is $1299 and starts shipping in November while the other is $1799. The latter will hit the market in December.
