New York Times Website Goes Down from ‘Internal Issue’

New York Times Website Goes Down from ‘Internal Issue’(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Top U.S. publication The New York Times on Wednesday faced a website outage that lasted up to two hours, The Washington Post reported on Thursday.

Meanwhile, company representative for the Times Eileen Murphy cited an “internal issue” as the cause.

The issue apparently persisted from 11:10 AM to 1 PM, the newspaper admitted.

Of course, with just a large outage, questions regarding a cyber-attack aren’t surprising. The company, however, denied the notion with Murphy saying there was “no reason to believe” hacking to be the cause.

It’s not the first time The Times has faced website problems. In January, the newspaper admitted it had been the victim of a 4-month cyber breach carried out by Chinese hackers.
