(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Nintendo made some very exciting announcements at its recent Direct conference, on Wednesday announcing a number of new games for the handheld 3DS.
Among them was a new title in the Legend of Zelda series. While the company didn’t unveil a name, the game appears to be a throwback to the Super NES. The new Zelda will be set in the world of 1992’s The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
“The game makes use of the 3D abilities of Nintendo 3DS, and allows Link to become a drawing and move along walls. A 3D video of the new game is now available to download in the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. The game is scheduled to launch this holiday season,” stated Nintendo via a press release.
A cool, new thing Nintendo is introducing with the title is the ability for playable character Link to become a drawing, thus moving within walls. Besides making for a cool trick to surpass obstacles, it also gives the player a new view point.
The new game will feature an original storyline along with new dungeons, Nintendo signaled in a video made available via gametrailers.com. Those interested can download a gameplay video through the Nintendo eShop
Meanwhile, Nintendo plans to release new titles in series including Mario, Donkey Kong and more. For a full list, view a Nintendo press release here (Nintendo.com).
