The company announced earlier today via press release that they will unveil new games and information at the conference with four “unique experiences” under its “Play Nintendo” campaign.
“We demonstrated last year that we are never afraid to reinvent a proven tactic or to break completely new ground if we believe it will provide the best experience for our fans, followers and partners,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America’s president and chief operating officer. “So, whether you’re attending E3 in person or joining online, there’s an amazing lineup of games, experiences and events coming your way.”
The Japanese video game company will host a Super Smash Bros. Invitational for Wii U at the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles, where 16 “highly skilled” players will compete against each other in a live tournament. This can be streamed online or seen in person at the event.
Nintendo will give fans an in-depth look at some of the company’s biggest games with its Nintendo Treehouse. The demos will be streamed live during the E3 conference so fans unable to attend the event can see what is in store for the coming year.
Additionally, fans can learn about upcoming games for all Nintendo platforms during the Nintendo Digital Event, which will air on June 10th at 9 a.m. PT.
Lastly, Nintendo has teamed up with Best Buy to give shoppers the opportunity to play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U at participating stores. More information on dates and times will be released shortly, says the press release.
E3 will take place from June 10-12 in Los Angeles, California.
