(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – No jailbreak for iOS version 6.1.3 appears to be in sight. According to a report from the International Business Times on Wednesday, jailbreak dev team evad3rs confirmed they’re waiting for a larger release before launching such a thing.
The news came as a Twitter user asked evad3rs team member pod2g if one was forthcoming. The reply? “We are not working on a 6.1.3 jailbreak, that would be too much efforts for a minimal update. We’re waiting for a major release,” pod2g commented.
Jailbreaking allows Apple device owners to run applications not initially supported by the company.
Apple released iOS 6.1.3 last month, something that killed the popular evasi0n jailbreak previously made available by evad3rs. In addition to stopping evasi0n, the latest iOS also reportedly corrected a lock screen vulnerability along with adding new features for Maps in Japan.
A timeframe for iOS 7’s launch remains uncertain; therefore, Apple device owners may just have to wait a bit longer before finding a legitimate solution to jailbreaking their respective devices.
