(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Not again! On Wednesday, Sony revealed that a “large amount of unauthorized sign-in attempts” had been found on the company’s PlayStation Network.
As you probably remember, Sony detected an unauthorized breach earlier this year, which resulted in widespread downtime for the popular gaming platform.
However, this time, the problem appears to be a whole lot smaller. According to Sony, the matter affected “Less than one tenth of one percent.”
After detecting the attempted intrusions, the company has temporarily pulled the plug on network accounts possibly effected (which amount for 93,000). Despite the matter, Sony says that no user credit card information was effected.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the problem continues. For more information on the matter, view a press release by Sony at: http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/News/Press/201110/11-1012E/index.html
