(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – At the Consumer Electronics Show this week, Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, revealed the latest mobile processor for Android devices.
Nvidia’s 192 CUDA-core Tegra K1 will support the latest in PC gaming technologies by running on “sophisticated gaming engines like Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4.”
The K1 will be offered in two versions, a 32-bit quad core and a 64-bit dial Super Core CPU which delivers high single and multi-thread performance.
“Tegra K1 is also the first mobile processor to deliver the same graphics features as the next generation of consoles (Xbox One, PlayStation 4) and faster performance than current generation consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), all in the palm of your hand,” states a press release from Nvidia.
Additionally, this processor is the first to support Nvidia Cuda, a parallel computing platform that creates GPU accelerated applications for computer vision, advanced imaging, speech recognition, and video editing.
