(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Parallels Summit 2014 drew to a close Wednesday night in New Orleans, Louisiana, concluding the company’s three day conference where about a thousand of the world’s IT and cloud professionals gathered together.
On Monday Parallels kicked off the event with its training and certification workshops reviewing Parallels Automation 5.5, APS 2, Plesk, and its Cloud Server.
Company CEO Birger Steen hit the stage Tuesday morning with the opening keynote. In his speech he discussed some of the services Parallels provides along with how businesses can benefit from cloud services.
Following Steen was GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving who discussed the future of cloud services and disruptive technologies. Abhijit Dubey, partner at management consulting firm McKensey & Company, listed five ways that cloud providers can “win” in pursuing SMB cloud services.
Meanwhile, other session included talks on Parallels APS service, Automation, Plesk, WordPress opportunities, cloud services, and server-to-site security.
Wednesday’s speeches continued with Parallels Executive Chairman Serguei Beloussov who shared the history and present of the cloud and several popular trends in the industry. Meanwhile, Nicholas Carr shared his thoughts on how cloud services has changed in the last 10 years and where we are with cloud today.
Wrapping up the conference was the closing reception where it was announced that Parallels Summit 2015 will be held in San Antonio, Texas, February 9-11.
