Parallels Names New Vice President of Alliances

(Ping! Zine) – Cloud services and automation leader, Parallels, today announced it had appointed former Microsoft executive, John Zanni to lead its Alliances division.

John was responsible for building Microsoft’s hosting business from 2005 where he focused on building strategic partnerships with many of the industry’s leading hosters.  He is a well respected voice in the community and is expected to strengthen Parallels commitment to help hosters increase their profitability in the delivery of Cloud services to small businesses.  In his new role, John will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of its technology and go-to-market alliances with key partners.

“In addition to the investments we are making in our products and services, we have also focused on the acquisition of top talent to lead our strategic businesses,” said Jack Zubarev, President of Marketing and Alliances at Parallels.  “The addition of John Zanni to our Alliances team is a demonstration of our commitment to support hosters in their efforts to serve their customers.”

Parallels helps hosting companies to rapidly and profitably deliver and add the widest range of Cloud services, enabling them to capitalize on the Cloud opportunity. By partnering with Parallels hosters can increase revenue and profit-per-user by capturing the highest share of small business IT spend.  John clearly understands the opportunity that can be captured by our partners and will bring that perspective to his new role at Parallels.

“With small businesses moving to the Cloud at ever increasing speed, hosting companies need to partner with industry leaders to help manage this demand and maintain the exceptional growth they have experienced in recent years,” said John Zanni, Vice President of Alliances at Parallels.  “In my years at Microsoft, I have seen Parallels grow to become a trusted advisor for hosters and be in a position where it can offer services that no other company can offer.  I am very excited to be joining Parallels where I can work more closely with the hosting community and leverage the expertise gained at Microsoft.”

John is the former general manager of the Worldwide Software plus Services Industry team for the Communications Sector at Microsoft, where he was responsible for its hosting strategy.
