(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Nintendo announced on Tuesday that the 3DS games Pokemon X and Pokemon Y had already generated over 4 million combined units sold.
The two separate RPG games were released on Saturday.
“The early response to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y not only reaffirms the ongoing passion of Pokémon fans, but also indicates that an entirely new generation of gamers is eager to experience the franchise for itself,” commented Nintendo President Saturo Iwata via a company press release.
Overall, the Pokemon gaming franchise has generated over 245 million in units sales, Nintendo emphasized.
Meanwhile, Nintendo is set to launch a new title in the Kirby series for 3DS sometime next year.
