(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – With its release just three weeks ago, the PlayStation 4 has definitely proved to be a huge success for Sony. Within the first 24 hours of its release, more than one million consoles were sold.
Sony’s Global Sales department reported that more than 2.1 million PS4’s have been sold following the release in Europe and Latin America.
“Demand remains incredibly strong and continues to overwhelm the supply worldwide, but we are diligently working to meet those growing demands and to deliver additional PS4 units to our retail partners throughout the holiday season. We are extremely grateful for the passion of PlayStation fans and thank them for their continued support,” wrote President and Group CEO, Andrew house.
Next year, Sony plans on introducing a cloud-based gaming service through Gaikai that offers PS3 titles to PS3, PS4, and PS Vita owners, reports USA Today.
This console is available in 32 countries and will be available in Japan early next year.
