(Ping! Zine) – If you happen to be a customer of Verizon’s unlimited data plans using 3G, you could be in for a change. The top mobile provider intends to drop its $30 monthly plan allowing customers to use unlimited data.
The upcoming move was discussed by Verizon Communications CFO Fran Shammo during J.P. Morgan’s annual Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, according to a report from wireless news site FierceWireless.
Meanwhile, Shammo indicated that customers will be moved to a new data share plan set to launch this summer.
So does that mean higher prices for the company’s mobile users? Not necessarily. Verizon has yet to unveil financial details regarding its new data share platform.
Last month, Verizon sparked controversy among its customer base by announcing an additional $30 upgrade fee with all wireless upgrades.
