(Ping! Zine) – Rackspace.com recently announced its acquisition of the start-up CloudKick, provider of cloud monitoring and management tools.
Based in San Francisco, CloudKick was already a partner of RackSpace and reportedly accommodates over 1,500 businesses, seeing over 1 million companies pass through its servers since it was developed just two years ago.
Its dashboard keeps the complexity out of cloud management, allowing users to add or remover servers from RackSpace Cloud, Amazon EC2, Linode, GoGrid, Slicehost, RimuHosting, and VPS.NET, keeping your chosen servers accessible and interchangeable.
RackSpace says it has big plans to incorporate the CloudKick suit into its servers and cloud while CloudKick says it is confident the acquisition will allow them to “offer the absolute best cloud management experience possible”.
Although the price and conditions of the acquisition are unknown, RackSpace has confirmed it has taken on the CloudKick staff, announcing its excitement over welcoming “12 new talented Rackers” to he company.
