(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Familiar with the classic crash screen received when something goes wrong with Windows? Well, it appears the screen (also known as the “Blue Screen of Death”) is getting a makeover for Microsoft’s next version of Windows.
While the screen is still blue, it’s flashier and features a sad face emoticon. Under the emotion, it states, “Your PC ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and now it needs to restart.”
According to a CNET report, the new image of the screen was featured on a Facebook page belonging to tech site Chip Hazard.
Windows 8 has gotten plenty of attention lately. Microsoft revealed further details of the OS at the recent BUILD conference in Anaheim, California. Besides more compatibility with touchscreen devices, Windows 8 is also expected to feature faster booting.
