(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Electronics maker Samsung rolled out its highly anticipated Galaxy S4 smartphone on Thursday – introducing with it, a number of fascinating new features.

“All the innovative features of GALAXY S 4 were developed based on the insights and needs we found from our consumers all around the world,” commented Samsung’s JK Shin in a press release. Shin continued, “Following the successful GALAXY S series, this phone is yet another great proof point of people-inspired innovation. At Samsung we’ll never stop pursuing innovation conceived by people, so we can inspire them in return.”

The S4 looks similar to that of the S3 but sports a larger screen along with some key components. We highlight some of the most interesting things below:

Display: It’s now 5 inches with 441 PPL and Samsung refers to it as the “world’s first Full HD Super AMOLED Display.”

Camera: 13 megapixels are in the mix and get this: Dual camera functionality allows users to show two views at once via video chat.

Translating: The GS4 (“S Translator”) allows you to get your point across in a number of languages via both speech and text.

Hand Waving: This is one of the coolest features. Simply gesture your hand through the air without actually touching the screen. Primarily this allows the user to scroll among other functions.

A ‘Healthier’ Phone: Sensors within the device help monitor the users’ health.

Driving Voices: You can connect the S4 to a car’s Bluetooth. The phone converts incoming texts to actual speech so you’re safe to continue driving down the road.

More Sharing: ‘Group Play’ allows users to directly connect to others’ devices to share media without using Wi-Fi.

Your Phone as a Remote: You can integrate your S4 with your TV device to actually use as a remote with “Samsung WatchON.”
