(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Samsung is expected to release its newest premium smartphone in the Galaxy line in the coming weeks as a way to compete with Apple’s rumored iPhone 6 that is expected to launch in September.
According to BGR, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Alpha is rumored to have a metal body, an Exynos 5 Octa chip, and feature a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a 6mm “thin profile” that runs on Android KitKat 4.4.2.
“The new smartphone, known as the ‘card-phone’ for its slenderness, will soon be out on the Korean market and some foreign markets as well,” said industry sources familiar with the device.
Additional features include a fingerprint scanner, heart-rate monitor, a 16-megapixel rear facing camera, 32GB memory, and a nano SIM slot, GSMArena reports.
Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha is expected to release this August before the unveiling of the next Galaxy Note smartphone.
