(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Technology giant Samsung marked off a new battle with Apple, recently filing to have patent infringement claims related to the new iPhone 5 added to an ongoing lawsuit against the Cupertino-based tech provider.
According to a BBC news report, the patents in question involve video capturing transfers and the syncing of a variety of digital files.
The two companies have been involved in ongoing litigation with one another for an extended period of time. In August, Apple won a high-profile 1 billion dollar plus dollar lawsuit against its competitor.
Many, however, have seen patent protections as too excessive with the BBC noting that a US judge had called for sweeping patent reforms.
The iPhone 5 was released late last month and includes an increased screen size. Samsung is primarily noted for its mobile device, the Samsung Galaxy S3, considered by analysts to be a top Apple competitor.
