(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Apple’s iPhone 6 rumored release is quickly approaching, leaving competitors scrambling on ways to compete with the highly sought after device.
BGR has reported that Samsung is reportedly getting ready to release a new smartphone in the next couple of months as a way to compete with the iPhone 6.
Samsung’s rumored device, the Galaxy Alpha, is said to have a metal body, an Exynos 5 Octa chip, and feature a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 6mm”thin profile.”
“The new smartphone, known as the ‘card-phone’ for its slenderness, will soon be out on the Korean market and some foreign markets as well,” said industry sources familiar with the phone.
Last week the South Korean tech giant revealed that its second-quarter earning were much lower than expected, partially due to cheaper Chinese rivals and higher end competitors such as Apple.
Apple is expected to release two models of the iPhone 6 in September, a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch “phablet.” Many speculate the device will feature wireless charging, NFC, a sapphire crystal display that prevents scratching, and 3D graphics.
