(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Amazon has teamed up with Samsung to offer its Kindle eBook services to a wider range of devices.
Samsung’s new “custom-built” app, Kindle for Samsung, will offer users the chance to read books, newspapers, and magazines from their Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets, states a blog post from the mobile giant.
Kindle for Samsung includes over 500,000 titles that are exclusive on the Kindle Store and features services such as Wispersync, Time to Read, and a Worry-Free Archive.
Both companies will also launch Samsung Book Deals, a service that gives customers up to 12 free eBooks a years from a selection of four “prominent” titles a month.
“We’re thrilled that Samsung has chosen Kindle as their eBook provider,” said Jorrit Van der Meulen, Vice President, EU Kindle. “With Kindle for Samsung, people around the world will have instant access to the best digital bookstore and reading experience, including more than half a million titles that are only available from the Kindle Store, and innovative features like Whispersync, Time to Read and much more.”
Samsung’s new app will launch sometime in April starting with the Galaxy S5, then with all other Galaxy devices running on Android 4.0 or higher.
