(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Samsung and data storage company Seagate have teamed up to provide a mobile storage solution to those who never seem to have enough space on their smartphones.
The Samsung Wireless media device, compatible with Android smartphones and tablets, is a 1.5 TB hard drive capable of creating its own Wi-Fi hotspot for up to five simultaneous devices, according to a report from Android Police.
The hard drive also doubles as a battery pack so that you can connect your device via USB port for when you are running low on battery.
Specifically, the wireless device can hold up to 375,00 MP3a, 750 movies, 425,000 pictures, or a combination of all three multimedia files.
“Samsung HDD continues to drive innovation of storage solution for enterprise level to consumer applications,” said General Manager, Samsung HDD division, Doug DeHaan. “Smartphones and tablets are more and more becoming the preferred method for consumers to watch video content but these devices have limited storage capacity. Samsung HDD is meeting this burgeoning demand by providing a device with the storage capacity consumers need to supplement their mobile device.”
Samsung’s Wireless device will be available later this month for $179.
