(Ping! Zine) – ServInt today announced it has appointed Brian Loomis to the new position of Director of Provisioning.
Loomis joined ServInt in 1998 as a customer-support representative, and eventually worked his way up to management positions on ServInt’s engineering team.
As Director of Provisioning, Loomis leads the group that manages and maintains the physical infrastructure required to deliver ServInt’s hosting services. Loomis and the Provisioning department are responsible for these resources — from procurement and deployment to end-of-life recycling. In addition, Loomis’ Provisioning staff works with ServInt’s Managed Services Team to maximize server density and performance. Loomis reports directly to ServInt Chief Technology Officer Matt Loschert.
“Some hosting companies consider their products to be little more than dumb boxes and dumb pipes – commodity hardware on a commodity network,” said ServInt Chief Operating Officer Christian Dawson. “But not ServInt. We use premium hardware, in premium locations that provide the best connectivity on the planet. Also, since we don’t build giant, energy-inefficient data centers in remote locations, we’re better for the planet.”
Dawson concluded, “Brian is at the heart of the decision-making team that has guided all of these hardware-related strategies, and we’re happy to recognize his significant contributions with this appointment. It’s one of many staff management decisions we’re making to address ServInt’s recent growth and our continuing product evolution.”
