(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Companies including Apple and Amazon have stores for customers to download applications. In fact, they’ve even fought over the name (Not surprising, right?). So why not have one built into Microsoft’s next OS? Now it appears that Microsoft will indeed include one in the upcoming Windows 8 operating system.
The news came as Microsoft’s President of Windows Division Steven Sinofsky revealed further details regarding the yet to be released OS in a company blog post titled “Introducing the team.”
By his introduction, Sinofsky revealed what portions of the OS certain teams will be working on, including an app store. Other things of interesting note include a kernel platform, Hyper-V and some of the more obvious things like Windows Update, a graphics platform, Windows Online, and others.
The new revelations follow more recent news on Windows 8. Just a couple days earlier, in another post, Sinofsky discussed creating an “open dialogue” with Windows 8’s creation. For more information, please visit: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/b8/archive/2011/08/17/introducing-the-team.aspx
