(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Want a job at a top game developer? How about making a Skyrim mod to impress them? That’s what 19-year-old modder Alexander J. Velicky did, according to a report from Polygon.
“The best way to show Bethesda Game Studios that I want a job there and should be hired is to create content that meets the standards of their incredible development team,” Velicky commented in the article.
The mod known as “Falskaar” adds new content, quests, music, characters and more. It also took Velicky around one year to make.
The Polygon report noted the mod had already been download 36 thousand times since it was initially made available through Nexus Mods.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim initially became available in November of 2011. After the release, Bethesda kept busy releasing DLCs for the game; however, the company has since ceased doing so, something it confirmed in April.
No word yet on if Velicky has actually been hired.
