(Ping! Zine Web Tech Magazine) – Earlier this week Google launched its high-speed Internet service, Google Fiber, to small businesses in select areas of Kansas City.
The tech giant noted via blog post that small businesses in select “fiberhoods” could register for the $100 a month service through the Early Access Program.
“Small businesses in these areas can sign up for a gigabit Internet connection and be among the very first businesses to get Google Fiber. though not all areas of central Kansas city are open or signups just yet, we’ll keep you posted as we expand,” said Google on Tuesday.
“I can confirm that the price is $100/month,” said a Google spokesperson to VentureBeat. “We’re working on plans to bring Google Fiber to small businesses in more cities, although we don’t have specific details to share just yet, we hope to have an update on additional cities soon. For now, we’re focused on launching this Early Access program in Kansas City.”
Last month Google announced that Fiber would be making its way to Austin, Texas, revealing that residents would be able to start signing up for the service in December. Other cities that offer the service is Kansas City and Provo.
