(Ping! Zine Web Hosting Magazine) – Dedicated and cloud service provider SoftLayer revealed a big company move recently. On Monday, the web host announced that someone new would be filling its position of Chief Financial Officer.
Walter Z. Berger, who once notably served as CFO of CBS Radio will join SoftLayer’s leadership team next month.
“Bringing Walter on board amplifies and extends the deep base of experience and expertise of our executive management team,” stated SoftLayer CEO Lance Crosby when commenting on the matter in a press release.
Other companies in which Berger has worked for include Leap Wireless, LG&E Energy Corporation, Emmis Communication and Arthur Andersen.
Berger replaces Mike Jones who had assumed the position in 2005. Late last year, the web host revealed a profitability of $85 million in revenues during the third quarter of 2011.
Just last Thursday, SoftLayer launched cloud replication platform Flex Images, a service that allows users to capture and deploy clouds across a variety of systems. For more information on SoftLayer’s latest announcement, view a press release here (softalyer.com).
